“Just as you did to one of the least
of these . . . you did to me.” These opening words of
Bishop Packard set the theme for a conference on health care,
“Waging Reconciliation: An Episcopal Response to Healthcare
Barriers,” on April 8th and 9th in Washington, D.C.
The meeting was organized in response to resolution (A079)
of the last General Convention, which calls for an association
of Episcopalians in health care to advocate for a system in
which all may be guaranteed decent primary care...“

“In his on-going effort to expand the role of
the Church in ministering to the healthcare needs of the Church's
people, Bishop Packard recently lunched with The Rev. Andrew
Mullins, rector of Church of the Epiphany in Manhattan. Joining
them were The Rev. Dr. David Henritzy, the Bishop's Director
for Healthcare Ministries, and The Rev. Stephen Harding, who
is a chaplain at the Jacob Perlow Hospice of the Beth Israel
Medical Center, also in Manhattan.... ”
